The Doctors
Michael C. Sivitz, M.D., is a graduate of Kenyon College and Temple University School of Medicine. Prior to his residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, he earned a Master’s degree in biochemistry at the Fels Research Institute. He joined the practice in 1977. Dr. Sivitz and his wife have three grown children: two daughters and a son, who is also a pediatrician. For relaxation, he enjoys jogging, reading and growing orchids.

Curt I. Parnes, M.D., attended Franklin and Marshall College and Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He trained at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, and has been with Abington Pediatric Associates since 1985. Dr. Parnes and his wife Susan live in Upper Dublin with their daughters Leah and Danielle. He is active in many community organizations and enjoys cooking, hiking and skiing.

Lisa J. Hutton, M.D., joined the practice in 1991, following her residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. She graduated from Franklin and Marshall College and Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Hutton and her husband reside in Abington. She keeps busy enjoying the activities of their two school-age daughters, but finds cooking and reading to be relaxing. 

Edward J. Higgins, M.D., earned a Bachelor’s from St. Louis University and a Master’s degree in chemistry from St. Joseph’s University. He returned to St. Louis to pursue his medical degree and then completed his pediatric residency at Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, PA. Dr. Higgins came to the practice in 1997. He currently serves as the physician for the Upper Moreland School District. He lives in Willow Grove with his wife and two children. 

Deborah A. Sandrock, M.D., graduated from the University of Scranton and received her M.D. from Temple University School of Medicine. She trained in pediatrics at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where she subsequently pursued a fellowship in ambulatory and adolescent medicine. Dr. Sandrock joined Abington Pediatric Associates in 1998. She is married and has two young children. Her recreational interests include running, gardening and woodworking. 

N. Isaura Lopez, M.D., is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. She received her medical degree from Cornell University and was a resident at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. She began working at Abington Pediatric Associates in 2000. Dr. Lopez lives in Philadelphia with her husband and two sons. For relaxation she enjoys biking and reading.

Maria Palasiuk Stefurak, M.D. graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1990 and completed her pediatric residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in 1993. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics with an interest in child development, asthma, nutrition and child safety. Dr. Stefurak practiced general pediatrics for eleven years in Fort Washington before joining Abington Pediatrics in 2005. She lives in Huntingdon Valley with her husband and three sons.

Francine M. Wolf, CPNP, joined the practice as a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in 1996. She holds a BS in Education and Nursing and received her MSW from the University of Pennsylvania in primary care. She currently serves on a city-wide committee to improve healthcare for asthmatic children. She enjoys gardening, cooking and swimming. 

Jill C. Kampherstein, PA-C, graduated from the University of Scranton with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She worked for Abington Pediatric Associates as an Aide for five years before earning her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies from Arcadia University. Her clinical studies focused in Pediatrics, Neonatology and Lactation. She returned to Abington Pediatric Associates as a provider in 2001. Jill and her husband Joe live in Warrington with their son Joseph. 

Jenny L. DePadua, PA-C, joined the staff of Abington Pediatric Associates in 2007. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology (Cum Laude) in 1996 from Bryn Athyn College, Bryn Athyn, PA, and her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Arcadia University, Glenside PA in 2004. Jenny is fluent in Swedish and conversational Portuguese and Spanish. She enjoys swimming and instructing children on the art of water safety.
