Appointments

Please schedule health exam appointments at least 4 to 8 weeks in advance. This is especially true if you have specific requests such as an evening appointment, or you wish to see one particular doctor. Please notify our receptionists if you wish to be seen at our Jamison office when scheduling your appointment. Since health checks can be planned for but illness cannot, we have allotted our appointments so that sick children can be seen readily, usually the same day. This is the reason there may be a waiting period for health exams.

Please do not make an appointment for one child and then, when you arrive ask that another child be seen. Please call in advance for an additional appointment. We request that you arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled appointment to sign in, complete the necessary paperwork, and meet with a nurse before seeing the doctor. We try to keep as close to our schedule as possible.

Neither the answering service nor the doctor on call can make appointments prior to 8 am. On weekends please call between 8 and 9 am if you suspect your child may need an appointment that day.

No-Show Policy

Missing an appointment without notifying us 24 hours in advance deprives another patient of using that time. If you fail to keep an appointment, we will call you and send a letter indicating that you missed your appointment and remind you to reschedule. If you miss three scheduled appointments without adequate notice, we will reluctantly ask you to choose another doctor's office for your child's health care. If a new patient misses an initial visit without 24-hour advance notice, the appointment will not be rescheduled, nor will the patient be admitted into the practice.
